My story...

My life and yours, are made up of moments that have inspired us, shaped us, informed us, supported us or traumatised us. Each moment influencing who you are today. These moments of time are what brings the authenticity that so many of us are searching for in how we want our business and brands to be experienced by our audience.

I've spent a decade 'trying' to be authentic in my business

to the point where I didn’t show up because I knew that the person I was showing up as, was an imitation of myself. I was showing up with a mask of ‘perfection’ ‘expectation’ and ‘shoulds’. I hadn’t sat with my desires, my purpose or service for long enough to connect them to my values because I was scared of the impact and success I would have when all of these elements lined up.

Journey to my 'authentic self'

I’ve been on a transformational journey to find this elusive ‘authentic self’ which began in the early hours of the morning on February 13th 2016 when my mum took her last breath. I remember this morning so clearly. It was 6:07am, the sun had just risen on a blue sky day, I could hear the birds chirping and the sun gently gracing us with his warm rays of light, the song ‘Lean on me’ by Bill Withers playing in the background (I can’t tell how perfectly apt this song was – a story for another time).

This was the day I committed to creating a life of fulfilment and the deep desire to serve and support women in creating a successful sustainable business so they could also reach their goals of fulfilment.

I went on a journey to find out how to be authentic and feel like myself so that I could create an ‘authentic’ and aligned brand to represent my graphic design business. I signed up for courses, joined programs run by business owners that ‘looked’ authentic and successful, I attended workshops and masterclasses on how to be authentic in my content, on social media etc…. I did ALL the things.

Everything fell into place...

Then, in 2020, I found a 12 month deep personal development journey which turned the light on and everything started to fall into place. I realised that being authentic is not something you do. It is something you ARE. I sat with this statement and replayed ‘being authentic is something you are’ over and over again and I was like ‘Who am I?’

A big question that I need to explore to create a brand that feels like an extension of me. I not only had to explore who I was, but also integrate who I wanted to be, how I wanted to show up and really commit to living out my values.

My exploration into this big question changed everything. I finally gave myself the time and space to take myself through my branding process and began to really explore my values, my purpose, what changes I wanted to see in the world, how I wanted to show up, how I would live out my values etc. This, combined with my training as an Advanced Intuitive Intelligence Trainer to integrate and embody this exploration, everything shifted.

I’d learnt (and continue to learn) how to regulate my nervous system (thanks to the continued support from Elisha Tichelle’s Teachings) to make space for who I wanted to be, releasing past traumas from my body and cutting ties with things that were not serving me, releasing all the masks that I had put on since I was a child.

I began to re-discover my innate self and could then translate this into a visual image that connects with my clients.

Cycles of evolution...

This is a journey with no completion (as much as part of me desires a completion date). Our businesses and brands are cyclical in nature and will move through evolution cycles. I know that these cycles feel easier now I have a foundation of truth underpinning them.

This foundation of truth comes through (and begins with) what my industry calls brand strategy. This is the part that reflects our truths back to us and sometimes it’s uncomfortable because we are either not being the truth of who we are or we know that we are playing small. If we ignore this, we end up creating a visual identity that looks nice but it has no depth or meaning and will eventually outgrow itself and leave your business empty and meaningless.

And this is why my services includes elements of deep self-discovery, strategy, energy work and invites social awareness into the mix.

To show up as we are, requires us to know ourselves. For me, this required exploration, experimentation, discovery, energetic clearing and mindset work to support me in delayering all of the masks I was living with to return me to myself (this is an ongoing process).
